About Shabal
Shabal is a cryptographic hash function submitted by the France funded research project Saphir to NIST's international competition on hash functions.
The authors of Shabal are Emmanuel Bresson, Anne Canteaut, Benoît Chevallier-Mames, Christophe Clavier, Thomas Fuhr, Aline Gouget, Thomas Icart, Jean-François Misarsky, María Naya-Plasencia, Pascal Paillier, Thomas Pornin, Jean-René Reinhard, Céline Thuillet and Marion Videau.

First SHA-3 conference
Posted on December 10th, 2008 No commentsNIST has posted informations about the first SHA-3 conference.
The conference will be held at K.U. Leuven, Belgium, 25-28 February 2009. NIST explains that the major topic of this conference will be the definition of the process and criteria for the selection of SHA-3.
Note that the conference is scheduled just after the 16th International Workshop on Fast Software Encryption (FSE 2009)
